Privacy Policy

VITAE is a CV builder. This policy explains, in plain language, what we collect, where it lives, and who sees it. The short version: your CV content stays yours, we don't sell anything, and we collect as little as the product allows.

What we store, and where

• Your CV drafts live on your device (browser local storage) until you save them to your library or sign in — they are not on our servers before that.
• Your account: when you create one, we store your email address, a salted and hashed password (we cannot read it), and your CV library, credits and purchases.
• Payments: card details never touch our servers. Payments are processed by Dodo Payments (a merchant of record); we store only the payment reference, product, amount and status needed to grant your unlock or credits.

AI processing

When you use an AI feature, the relevant parts of your CV (role target, experience text and similar) are sent through OpenRouter to a language model to generate your summary, bullets or a full draft. We do not use your CV content to train models. AI features are optional — every manual feature works without them.

What we never do

• We do not sell or share your personal data with advertisers or data brokers.
• We do not read your CV content except to operate the features you invoke (rendering your PDF, running an AI request you started, or debugging with your report).

Deleting your data

Signing out clears drafts on that device. To delete your account and everything in it, write to us from your account email and we will remove the account, CVs and payment references.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, we will note it on this page with a new date.
